Roadways
Situated four miles from Interstate 20, via 4 lane U.S. Highway 61, the Mississippi River Inland Port Complex (MRIPC) provides connectivity to all major markets in the United States. Positioned merely 45 minutes west of the Capital City (Jackson, MS) the Complex provides easy connectivity to a labor force of over 727,000 people within a 45 minute drive.
Railroad
Class I Rail service in the MRIPC is available through CPKC, the only Class I railroad in America providing uninterrupted, non-switch service between Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. The CPKC network also provides (in Vicksburg) access to the Meridian Speedway, a collaborative joint venture between Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and Norfolk Southern. The 320-mile rail line between Meridian, MS, and Shreveport, LA offers the end-to-end steel-wheel interchange for intermodal users and it’s the fastest route from the Northeast to Dallas, Texas.
River Transportation
The MRIPC includes a new port basin which will be 3000’ long X 700’ top width X 390’ bottom width with 2:1 side slopes. The basin is designed for two way navigation and can accommodate 50 barges at a time.
MPIRC is also located only 13 miles from the Port of Vicksburg which is ranked as the number one inland port in Mississippi by tonnage, and is home to a diversified set of industries including chemical, wood products, oil refineries, construction, fertilizers, and others. Both the MRIPC and the Port of Vicksburg offer Foreign Trade Zone status.
Airports
MRIPC is positioned 52 miles away from the Jackson International Airport, which offers daily flights to major destinations such as Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Washington D.C., Charlotte, Orlando, and Houston. Additionally, the Tallulah Regional Airport is located 15 miles from MRIPC and Vicksburg Municipal Airport is situated less than a mile away providing an optimal choice for airport access.
